Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) — Women empowering women.
Would you like to work with other women to make positive changes in the community and around the world? The WMS responds to the needs of the local community and throughout the world.  Meetings are held ONLINE on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM. The WMS is actually an organization within the Presbyterian Church of Canada so women in Presbyterian Churches across Canada are meeting and accomplishing goals that empower women. The WMS at South Gate holds a soup luncheon in October, bakes and sells cookie boxes, invites speakers to talk to the congregation, and supports mission and social justice projects in Africa, Guatemala and worldwide. Book Club — Offering lively discussion and Christian friendship.
Have you ever read a book and wished you could chat about it with someone else who’d read it too? The Book Club meets once a month ONLINE on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. We read books and discuss how they relate to everyday issues and our Christian faith.  Recent book discussions have been, “Little Old Lady Who Broke All The Rules” by Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg and the “Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins. Please click here to view the Calendar page for our current book review. Discussion is lively and a great opportunity to meet new people.
Knit ‘N’ Nine — Helping the community one stitch at a time.
Can you knit? Or crochet, or do other crafts, OR just want to visit? The Knit and Nine group meets ONLINE every other Monday at 7 p.m. to tackle knitting projects that benefit the needs of the local and international community. Last year the group knitted Izzy dolls for distribution to refugees. Izzy dolls have been a symbol of Canadian peacekeeping for the last twenty years. The group knitted squares to be added to the world’s largest Christmas stocking for acknowledgment in the Guinness Book of World Records. Please see the website Calendar page for our meeting dates.

Wednesday Work Group — Men and women keeping the church in topnotch condition.
Are you a handy-person or skilled trades person? The Property and Maintenance Group meets every Wednesday at 9 AM at the church and undertakes repair projects to keep the building maintained. Mid-morning coffee is a must for the group. Come and share your skills and make new friends.
FUNky Fundraisers — Raising funds for The South Gate Church in creative ways.
Fundraising is fun! If you’re interested in making a difference in the community, the FUNky Fundraisers would be happy to help you. The group develops projects to help raise funds to support the church and bring awareness to the community. An ongoing project is the making and selling of frozen dinners–a big help to those purchasers who find it difficult to prepare  a delicious meal after a busy day.
Seniors’ Community Lunch — More sharing food and fellowship.
At noon, on the third Wednesday of each month (excluding July and August), everyone in the church and community is  most welcome to join us as we enjoy a meal together. Each month will feature a different  after-lunch topic, ranging from guest speakers  to games, to information of interest to seniors. Please watch for information about when these events will begin again.
